NAN: Feeding Older Babies

Infants who are eight to 12 months old will need about three meals and two snacks per day to satisfy their hunger.

Mash, cut-up and grind a variety of foods to expand your baby’s palate. At this age, babies can eat most of what the family eats, provided foods are cooked longer, are soft and are cut into small pieces.

Older infants are able to use a spoon to learn how to feed themselves. Easy foods to self-spoon feed include oatmeal, cottage cheese and yogurt.
