At 18 months, children are typically able to pull toys while walking and they may also walk up stairs and even run. At 18 months, children can also typically help undress themselves, drink from a cup and eat from a spoon.

Nannies should share any concerns regarding a child’s development with the parents. A child who is not walking by 18 months of age should be referred to his pediatrician for evaluation.
