Misconception: They’re Laughing and Playing, so They Aren’t Grieving

Reality: Children deal with intense emotions in short bursts – the behaviour is called “puddle jumping.” Even though they may appear happy, they are still grieving. Never make them feel their “non-sad” behaviour is naughty or disrespectful. It’s completely normal – children use play to cope.
